I'm Sammie - photographer, wife, dog mom, adventurer and
creative visionary.
Photography, dogs, adventuring in the great outdoors and good company are what I'm all about!
Your life is beautiful and I'm here to help you capture that beauty. I will help plan your session from outfits to poses so all you have to do is bring the smiles.

WHY I LOVE WHAT I DO
I first picked up a camera when I was 15 years old and I haven't looked back since. I started out by photographing families, my little sister, senior portraits, and my pets. I went to the University of Minnesota— Duluth and double majored in Digital Arts and Photography and Graphic Design. After college, I dove right into my career. By day, working full time as a graphic designer/project manager and by evening, a photographer. For over 6 years, I photographed weddings, couples, families, kiddo's, proposals and worked with companies and brands. In 2018, my husband, Trevor, and I got our first dog and that's when things changed - in the best possible way!
Ember, our English Springer Spaniel, has inspired me beyond what I thought having a dog could. However, Ember is not my first dog. I grew up with dogs, basically as my siblings (for the first 10 years of my life), and I did everything with them. Since day one, dogs have been a huge part of my life. I spent hours outside with them, dressing them up, teaching them tricks, and of course, photographing them.
The bond with a dog is unlike any bond with a human, and if you've had the privilege of meeting your soul dog, you will understand what I mean. Ember, aka Emmy, Em, M&M or Smush, is my soul dog. Since bringing her home, I have completely fallen in love with photographing dogs. I've photographed puppies, groups of dogs, elderly dogs, adventure dogs and even…a handful of cats!
I love to capture their personalities, floppy ears, snaggle teeth, tricks, wiggle butts and best yet, the bond you share with them. Our pups bring so much joy and laughter into our lives and I am here to make sure those memories are captured forever. Although pups are my main passion, I am still here to capture your family, your proposal, your beautiful face or your business!
